about

This two track EP is a musical escapade by Quimbie featuring two tracks that delve into early Chicago House, New Beat, and Acid House, infused with elements of Japanese electronic music. The original song "Sumo" is an under-the-radar track from Ken Morioka's "Questions" album from 1994, which features an array of beautiful and heart-melting pop songs. While "Sumo" may set a slightly darker mood than the rest of the album, it still maintains the stripped-down EBM-Chicago-House feel. "Hooya" is another new track by Quimbie that keeps up the ambiance with it’s New Beat treatment, blending digital keyboard and cosmic vocoder sounds and Japanese vocals.
